Tongits has been part of Filipino life for generations — from barangay nights to barkada get-togethers to long bus rides up north. EQ777 brings the game online with real-money tables, live multiplayer action, fast GCash deposits, and the same competitive edge you'd expect from a proper face-to-face game.
Sample Winning Hand
If you grew up in the Philippines, you know Tongits. It's the card game that comes out after dinner, during fiesta breaks, and on every long holiday when there's nothing on TV and everyone just wants to sit around a table and play. It's fast, strategic, and at its best when the stakes are real and everyone at the table is trying to outread each other.
Tongits is a three-player card game played with a standard 52-card deck. Each player is dealt 12 cards (the dealer gets 13), and the goal is to get rid of all your cards by forming sets — either three or four cards of the same rank (called a trio or quartet) or three or more consecutive cards of the same suit (a sequence). You draw and discard on every turn, trying to meld your hand as fast as possible. The round ends when a player "Tongits" (goes out with no cards), calls a "dump" when they feel their remaining cards are the lowest, or the deck is exhausted.
EQ777 brings the authentic Tongits experience online without changing what makes the game great. The rules are the same ones Filipinos have played for decades. The format is still three players. The competitive tension is still there — you're reading real opponents who are just as invested in winning as you are. What EQ777 adds is convenience: you can join a table from your phone at any hour, and when you win, the payout goes straight to your GCash wallet.

Most Filipinos do everything on their phone — from banking to buying load to ordering food. EQ777's Tongits section is built with that reality in mind. The game runs smoothly in any mobile browser without requiring a download. Whether you're on Android or iOS, on 4G or home Wi-Fi, the experience is fast and stable.
Deposits and withdrawals on EQ777 are handled through the payment methods Filipinos already use. GCash and Maya are the most popular — a deposit takes under a minute, and withdrawals land in your GCash wallet usually within five minutes of requesting them. There are no fees from EQ777 on withdrawals, and the minimum withdrawal amount is low enough that you don't need to accumulate a huge balance before cashing out.
The EQ777 Tongits interface on mobile is clean enough that you can follow the game comfortably on a standard-sized phone screen. Card layouts are clear, melds are highlighted automatically, and turn timers are visible so you always know how long you have to act. Even on a small screen with a busy background, the important information stands out without having to squint or zoom in.
For players who prefer playing from a desktop or laptop, EQ777's Tongits section works just as well in a regular browser. The wider screen gives you a better view of the full table state, which some experienced players prefer when they're in a serious high-stakes session and want to track every card that's been discarded.

Prize pool eventsWhether you're completely new or just need a refresher — here's how Tongits works on the EQ777 platform.
Three players sit at the table. The dealer receives 13 cards; the other two players each get 12. The remaining cards form the draw pile at the centre. Each player starts by arranging their hand into potential melds.
On your turn, draw from the pile or pick up the last discarded card if it helps your hand. Then discard one card face-up. The cycle continues until someone goes out or the deck runs dry.
Lay down completed melds (sets or sequences) on the table in front of you. Once a meld is laid down, other players can add cards to it on their turn — called "sapaw." This reduces their hand and adds pressure to yours.
If you discard your last card with no cards remaining in hand, you call "Tongits" and win the round automatically. A Tongits win takes the full pot — no counting, no comparison.
When the draw pile hasn't run out, a player can call a "dump" — challenging all other players to reveal their unmelded cards. The player with the fewest unmelded card points wins the round and the pot.
"Fight" is called when you challenge a dump. If you have equal or fewer unmelded points than the caller, you win. "Stack" (also called "Secret") occurs when the deck runs out — lowest points wins automatically.
Valid meld types in EQ777 Tongits:
Tongits looks simple on the surface but it rewards players who think several moves ahead. The best players on EQ777 aren't just melding cards as fast as they can — they're reading their opponents' discards, managing their unmelded card count at all times, and knowing exactly when to call a dump versus when to hold out for a Tongits.
Card counting matters more in Tongits than people give it credit for. Every card that goes to the discard pile tells you something about what the other players are holding. If multiple hearts have been discarded and you're holding a partial heart sequence, the odds of completing it are lower — and you might need to break that partial meld and pivot to another combination. EQ777's interface shows you the full discard history at any time, which makes this kind of read easier than in a face-to-face game where cards get mixed up.
Timing your dump call is one of the most important skills in competitive Tongits. Calling too early when your unmelded count is still high is a quick way to lose the pot. Waiting too long gives other players time to reduce their hand further. The sweet spot is usually when you have five or fewer unmelded points and you're fairly confident neither opponent is sitting on a near-empty hand. EQ777 shows each player's card count in real time so you can make this judgment with more information than a physical game usually gives you.
A quick cheat sheet for common in-game situations — useful when you're just starting out.
| Situation | Recommended Action | Priority | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| You have a complete meld ready | Lay it down immediately | High | Reduces your card count and pressure from opponents' sapaw |
| Deck is below 10 cards remaining | Consider calling dump if unmelded points ≤ 6 | High | Deck exhaustion is close — stack win may favour lower-hand player |
| Opponent laid down many melds | Prioritise reducing your own unmelded count | High | They may call dump soon — catch up before they do |
| You have 2 cards left, both unmelded | Draw aggressively looking for matching card | Medium | Close to Tongits — one good draw wins the round |
| Opponent discards a card you partially need | Pick it up only if it completes a meld | Medium | Picking up without completing adds dead weight |
| You hold many high-value unmelded cards (J, Q, K) | Discard high cards early | Medium | High unmelded points hurt you in a dump or stack outcome |
| All three players have melds on the table | Watch for sapaw opportunities | Situational | Adding to opponents' melds reduces your hand without needing a new set |
